About the Production
Based on the hit Disney Channel Original Movie, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL follows Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High as they navigate first love, friendships and self-discovery, all while juggling classes, basketball games, auditions and the expectations of their peers. Featuring all the beloved songs from the original film, this fresh new production is High School Musical like you've never seen it before.
Jason Donovan stars as Coach Bolton at the Lowry, Salford, with Harry Judd (McFly) taking on the role in London.
KayCee Stroh, best known as Martha from the original High School Musical film trilogy, plays Ms Darbus in both productions.
They are joined by Tobias Turley (ITV's Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream), Leonor Correia (Six), Caitlin Tipping (Frozen) and Luke Bayer (Titanique) as Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay and Ryan.
The show is co-directed by Joseph Houston and William Whelton, founders of Hope Mill Theatre.

High School Musical is playing at the Lowry's Lyric Theatre in Salford from 22 August 2026 to 19 September 2026 and then at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in London from 12 October 2026 to 3 January 2027.

Age Guidance & Content
Recommended for ages 6 and above. All children under 16 must be accompanied by and seated with an adult. Under 3s will not be permitted into the auditorium.
This production may include flashing lights and loud sound effects. Full content guidance will be available closer to opening.
At the Venue
The Lowry, Pier 8, Salford Quays, Salford, M50 3AZ. There is on-site parking available at Salford Quays, and the venue is a short walk from MediaCityUK tram stop on the Metrolink network.
3 Fulton Road, Wembley, HA9 0SP. The theatre is a five-minute walk from Wembley Park station (Jubilee and Metropolitan lines), just 12 minutes from Baker Street.
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the performance to allow time for entry and finding your seat.
Latecomers may not be admitted. Please arrive in good time.
Photography and video recording are not permitted during the performance. The unauthorised use of cameras, audio and video equipment is not permitted.

On stage seating
On-Stage Seating is a unique theatre experience that places audience members directly on the stage during the performance of High School Musical. Instead of sitting in the traditional auditorium, guests are seated alongside the action, becoming part of the energy and excitement of the show.
Audience members in the On-Stage Seating section will be seated in comfortable, padded theatre seats arranged in a basketball court bleacher-style configuration on stage. This layout provides good sightlines while maintaining a close connection to the performers and the story.
Very close! On-Stage Seating offers an immersive, up-close view of the performers, choreography, and musical numbers. You'll experience the show from a perspective that traditional audience seating simply can't provide.
While you won't be required to participate, you'll be seated within the performance environment and feel like you're right in the middle of the action. Audience members should remain seated and follow any instructions provided by theatre staff. Due to technical requirements and performer movement on stage, there may be times during the performance when guests in the On-Stage Seating area cannot leave their seats immediately. In these instances, an usher will assist and guide guests at the next safe opportunity.
